Title: How do I Complain?
Question:
I am newly divorced and had a terrible time in the process. A friend told me to quit complaining and do something about it. I would like to write my elected officials and give them a story about what happened to me and needed changes I think should happen. How do I do this?
Answer:
Glad to see you are wanting to do something about the problems in our government. A great resource is Vote Smart (http://www.vote-smart.org/) which will not only help you find out who your elected officials are, but how they voted on key issues, their campaign funding, and views on issues. I think that people should write not only national politicans but their local political representatives. The people in your city, for instance, oversee the family courts and funding for changes. I commend you on your interest.
