Ask the Divorced Woman!

Title: Custody Issues
Question:
One of my children is living with his dad, and his dad doesn't do certain
things I consider basic, like take him to the dentist every six months, treat
the warts on his fingers, and most recently, start him with a tutor for his
Bar Mitzvah. The boy is nine. The father simply never responds to my e-mails
om subjects he doesn't wish to address. So then I call the GAL which costs
money, or the lawyer, and this costs money. Without full pressure, my ex
ignores all subjects. Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.
Answer:
Is one of your goals to get custody of your nine year old? If you can
prove that the father isn't taking care of the child properly - take him
back to court for full custody! Have it so he pays for court costs!
Short of taking this through the legal system - I don't think there is a
lot more that you can do...
Sorry, this is probably what you don't want to hear but only recourse is
through the courts.
