What if we can’t agree on the value of the personal property?

You and your spouse can hire an appraiser to determine the value of the personal Propert. If you can’t agree on a particular appraiser, you could hire one, and your spouse could hire another. The court would then decide between thevalues provided by the two appraisers. Courts have sometimes chosen a neutral appraiser, apart from the husband’s choice and the wife’s choice for the personal property that carries a very high value (Antiques, Art, Ect.). If you do not agree on the division of the personal property, it is most likely due the fact that certain items have sentimental value. It is very hard for a judge to say certain property has more meaning to one spouse than another spouse with out some type of explanation and proof.
