What rules of evidence are likely to be "relaxed"?

Many arbitrators ignore the rule against hearsay during an arbitration. Usually this is done to allow the arbitration to proceed without what many believe is an "artificial" constraint on procedure. Arbitration will eliminate a bit of courtroom procedure in order to get to the bottom of the situation at hand. Arbitration is designed to help eliminate what may be interpreted as unnecessary procedure in order to speed up the decision making process. Of course, a carefully implemented balance is a must in order to maintain a fair and equitable arbitration process.
