Will an abuser limit him or herself to one form of domestic violence?

Probably no. The sad fact is that several forms of abuse – physical, mental, psychological – often go on at one time in the same household. The movie Gaslight depicted a diabolical husband’s concerted -- and inventive -- efforts to destroy his wife’s sanity and do so without putting a hand on her.


A woman who is married to a bully sadly learns that often there seems to be no limit to his inventiveness when it comes to abuse. Nor is there much predictability about what will trigger outbursts.
