Divorce Support Forums: does anyone know steps i can take

hi. thanks for reading. i've been divorced for four and a half years from my son's father, a domestic abuser. my first lawyer (at the time of the divorce) told me i didn't have much of a case against him as far as custody, since i had never called the police or filed a report. he is now divorced for a second time, because of another domestic violent situation. unfortunately, the second wife never filed a report either. mostly he likes to yell a lot but he also held both of us pinned to things, like the wall or bed, so he could scream in our faces without us being able to get away. he also threw a large wooden ottoman at me across the room once, with our two year old son sitting four feet away from me. does any one know what i can do to get his custody time with my son supervised? i'm worried about the impact his behavior will have on my six year old. he has recently begun threatening and terrorizing me again (through repeated phone calls and conversations) and yelling at my husband in our yard when he drops my son off from visitation. i truely believe he is sociopathic, and my son doesnt like going to see him. what can i do?
