Divorce Support Forums: Question on studies for settlements
The Spousal Support Handbook The Spousal Support Handbook ($28.99)
Unlike child support, spousal support is often very difficult (if not impossible) to modify after the divorce is final, so getting it right the first time is a must!

Has anyone ever conducted a statistical analysis of support settlements in divorces? I'm curious if there is a source or study done on what factors go into the settlement and then what the settlement or final decree was.

I've seen in some of the posts you can expect 1/2 the length of the marriage for duration and 25-40 percent of the difference (more or less). But I was curious if anyone hae ever put a study together. I think the study would be fascinating.
