I hope someone can help us! My boyfriend used to live with this woman for a period of 4-5 years during which she gave birth to 2 children. He is not listed on the birth certificate of either child. The paternity of these children are in question. Due to other issues, the mother does not have custody, he went through a year long rehab and the children became wards of the state. If the child(ren) are his, then support would not be the issue. We have no knowledge of where the children might be, and definitely would need paternity tests done. Fast forward - he moved to the state of Georgia and is now a resident. His paychecks are being garnished either 25 or 50%. (both amounts have been taken). When he went to change his drivers license over to this state, he was denied it because of the child support issue. So my questions are: what is the best way to get this resolved, or whom can we contact to help us with this. Thanks, Littlepet39
Looks like the mother named him as the father and the state has obtained a child support order on him. If he denies paternity he needs to get DNA testing done. The state won't relent on the driver's license as long as he has outstanding child support arrearages on record. He needs to call a lawyer.
