Perhaps it would be interesting to know that Americans can obtain a Dominican Republic divorce that is valid nationwide provided both spouses agree on divorce and sign a settlement agreement for child custody, assets and alimony. This divorce process is unexpensive and takes around 10 days to be completed. Only one of the spouses is required to attend a short 10 minutes hearing in Santo Domingo and leave the same day in the afternoon. Perhaps it would be also interesting to know that if a couple agrees on everything, they can have an agreement drawn up for a small fee and pay the filing fees to the court. This would most likely be way less than $2K (my divorce was done this way and cost less than $400, and best of all, I didn't have to leave the continent).
How much of a kickback are you getting from Jetblue for advertisting for them?

Of course, this service is often used by very important people such as celebrities, business people, who want to keep divorce process in a low profile and hidden from the press, relatives and friends. It does not matter how much they own or the real estate properties they have, fee will remain the same. So that if you have no assets or interests together, a do-it-yourself divorce would be a much better idea.

Yes Wendy, And I suppose those "very important people and celebrities" come here often to ask questions re: divorce and get support from the rest of us. Yeah, right! Say, wasn't Britney here just last week asking for advice?
