my husband walked out on me and our 4 children, the older 2 are not biologicly his, found out he was doing steroids and having an affair...things only got worse...i now have a 1 yr restraining order against him and he has 2hrs supervised visitation with our 8 yr old per week, the 16 yr old wants nothing to do with him so judge is not forcing visitation...he has since filed for divorce,we have a hearing sept 11...judge for restraining order would not discuss finances as divorce was filed day prior..convenient huh...my mortgage is not getting paid and we pretty much have no money...when will i get an order for support and can i speed this up any poss way?
This has been my experience from reading many cases. There are several factors that seem to strongly effect the consistancy of payments recieved, even after they are ordered. One is time spent with the kids, 2 are RO's, and 3 is past payment history. Your STBX has 3 strikes already. Good luck. I would start preparing yourself to mostly "finance" your life on your own.
There's no way to speed up the process, and even if support is set up at that time, it takes time to recieve any money (often a month or 2),and that's IF your ex pays. Good luck.
