Hi....Looking for some sort of support group or forum for newly divorced people in RI....can't find a thing. Googling just links me to matchmaking sites which is NOT what I am looking for - the last thing I need!! So, I know no one is registered at this time on this site, but I thought I'd try to see if I could get something going. Life sucks when you feel alone in a situation, and it would be nice to communicate and relate. So, hope to hear from you......if you're here, there's a reason for that, so chin up!!

I AM NOT SURE IF YOU ARE STILL USING THIS SITE, BUT I LIVE IN MASSACHUSETTS. I AM GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING, IF YOU ARE INTERESETED IN CHATTING OR SUPPORTING EACH OTHER THAT WOULD BE GREAT FOR ME. I AM HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING A SUPPORT GROUP IN MY AREA AS WELL. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN STARTING UP SOMETHING IN THE AREA.

I have been looking for the same thing and it's funny how New England seems to lag the rest of the country with these types of groups, networks, and churches. There's hardly any of these in our area but step outside of the northeast and there's a ton of them.
Here's two that I've found - I just called the one in N. Kingstown and am awaiting a response.

I hope you found what you were looking for...you can get a lot of support and information on this site...some days you get a lot and some days you don't but you can always post and that is good. do you have kids? I was in a mother's group when I went through my separation and divorce...the other mothers helped a lot but they were all married so that aspect kinda sucked...couldn't relate to that part of it...but my best friend was going through a divorce at the same time so we went out to a local pub once a week and sat at the bar and just had a good time...got home by midnight though...it broke up the monotony of the week and made us feel alive again...anyways good luck and if you need to chat come back here...
