I have been in the middle of,what should be a very simple divorce, for 2 1/2 years now. Within the last month and a half things have actually started moving. THEN it all stopped again. I go to school in San Antonio and moved here about a week ago with our 4 year old daughter. Prior to the move,my attorney and I made the move known to my ex and his lawyer almost 3 weeks beforehand. My husband started asking for an extra weekend which I happily agreed to for his sake and my daughter's sake. He already has a loan for my half of the estate, which is only $15,000, but I cannot claim it until we have a signed decree presented to the bank. My daughter and I have been in SA for almost a week and a half now and he hasn't bothered to call, or text message me or make any kind of attempt to see his kid. He is not sending any support nor has he since we separated 2 years ago. Whats worse is that now he just will not sign the papers. I am trying to be as agreeable as I can with him. Everything is agreed upon and a dcree should be written and ready to sign, but my attorney cannot even get a straight answer from the opposing attorney. Is there anything I can do to hurry this along? Can i sue him? I had to quit working in order to stay in school and take care of my daughter since I don't have the money for daycare right now. I AM living with a boyfriend which my soon-to-be-ex knows about and has never made an issue of. I am nervous and anxious all at the same time.I amafraid toi even let her go see her dad in the event that he decides to just keep her and then never sign the decree. Any kind of advice is greatly appreciated.

if he refuses to sign them, don't keep your daughter away. Request temporary orders from your attorney. They will hold a hearing and if he doesn't show or agree, the judge will rule in default on a standard order which unless you have anything bad in your background, you will get your daughter and he will get visitaion. stick to it because you can be held in contempt if you don't. He'll also probalby be ordered to pay child support. Then go for the divorce. It protects you if he stalls.
