I have a friend who is trying to set me up with her friend.
Good right?
Here is the catch -- the daughter is a local celeb of sorts. Her pappy is a national celeb (that I do not find charming).
Personally I find it funny ..... and being the private sort I am ..... FEAR this situation. Likely will avoid this situation.

No avoiding allowed. We all need to see photos of you avoiding papparazzi!
Think of it, celeb relatives are doomed to abnormal lives where they have to question the motives of every person who wants to be with them.
Edit to add disclaimer: None of the following should suggest that I am in any way rich or a celebrity... or the family of one... just that in my tiny little hometown, my Dad was known as having more than average resources:
I was the daughter of a local man who had ... well, he was known to have money and was a politician at some point.... I grew up recognizing that anyone who ever wanted to date me was fully aware of who my daddy was, adn they were often hoping for more than the chance to buy a dinner or movie ticket for me. They were hoping for me to treat... or worse ... to marry themselves into money. Nasty, nasty, nasty.
Truth is, they don't have enough money to support their kids for life. But that was the rumor. And living with the reputation was bad enough. It was always a breath of fresh air to date someone who did NOT have dollar signs in his eyes.
If I, a normal girl in a small town, had such issues... imagine what the bona fide daughter of a celebrity might have!
You'll probably be a breath of fresh air for not being a jerk, not having stars or dollar signs in his eyes, for being REAL and not wanting to turn being her companion into your new career.

seriously. no joke. no exaggeration.
HONEST. I appreciate my friend for the offer (better than the dear friend that tried to set me up just a few days after the ex left), but I am uncertain as to taking her up.

as I said -- she (the potential setup) is locally known, her father is national -- like magazine cover level.
he is one of those celebs that I personally have found ...... less than grand.

It's NOT a date with HIM. It's a date with HER. SHE may be quite sweet and needing someone who is not star-struck. PLease consider doing it.

It's only a date. I suggest you go and have fun - if it's terrible find a way out and leave. No big deal.

agreed. can't hold her responsible for her dad. i know my 21 year old daughter would absoluty NOT want to be judged based on her dad's actions and reputation. nor does she have anything in common with him in that regard.
