Ok, the guy I've been with for over 8 years has filed for divorce from his wife, of whom, lives in Wisconsin. She is refusing to sign the papers stating they are all a lie, and he owes her money. They have not been together in over 10 years. Can we get this done even if she refuses to sign, and if not what can we do? She said she will not travel here for court and will get a change to have it up there since that is where she is and it would be more convienant for her. I am currently preganant with his 3rd child and am not willing to go there for court. They have no children, no property together, nothing! PLEASE HELP ME get this done before the baby comes.
Yes, you can get the divorce settled by a judge without her signature.
Jurisdiction is a possible catch. If she files objection requesting jurisdiction be moved to her state, which will likely slow things down and incur expenses for both of them.
Of course, she has to make the legal motion. I'd work on the assumption that it's an empty threat and schedule a hearing in his state and try and get it pushed through.
