I am in the middle of a divorce. At present we have temp orders. In these orders the judge has told me to pay 2 bills on top of my child support. This amounts to a negative number after I pay my attorney every week. The orders also made her pay one small bill. The day the judge signed these orders he placed us both in contempt because we just don't have the money to do it. I just cannot pay the mortgage as he wants. What is likely to happen?
They did the same to me. Stuck me with all joint accounts, mortgage, car loans and the knife in the back one the boobs. Plus paying her the support on top of it. While she only got her credit cards that have a low monhly payment that she still doesnt pay and hasn't in many months. Yet she still complains about the $ when she get all the help from the state plus the support....Suck man i probably gonna get hit just like you did the next court date.

I am thinking it may be better that the judge orders payment of bills instead of alimony. Then you can file bankruptcy and not have to pay those bills. There is no way I can live on 25.00 a month so I am not paying the mortgage. I went to a bankruptcy attorney and he said he would also write a letter for the judge if her atty tried to file contempt charges against me. But, she has not been paying her bills either so I would file a counter contempt. She knows that would not be good for her either.
