My soon to be ex and I have been seprated for two years now and I have met someone and we are engaged I finally filed for divorce and I have my court date this week how long do I have to wait to get re-married after the court date. Also can I go to another state to get re-married.
usually you have to wait thirty days after the divorce is final. that is how long I had to wait after my first divorce but that was eight years ago. this time around, I could care less but that is what happened to me before if it helps ya any. and about going to another state, you don't HAVE to do that, after the waiting period you can get married wherever you are.

What state are you in? In California, there is a mandatory 6 month cooling off period once the paperwork has been filed before the divorce is final. Then if I recall, I was told I could not remarry for 30 days after the judge signed off on the divorce.
Didn't matter, I wasn't getting married anytime soon. I remarried about 1 1/2 years after my divorce.
Your attorney or even a website for your state should have the answer to your question.
