I am expecting to file for a divorce in CT. My wife asked for the divorce, but I am sure she will never file unless she decides to remarry, and I don't think that's happening soon (although she's sleeping with her next victim).

We have no common property, no real estate, separate cars, checking, savings, credit accounts. No children. I don't want anything she has and I don't foresee her wanting anything I would not be willing to give her.

What is the simplest way to do this? I know I can file papers myself, but does she need to be formally served? Are there things I should watch out for lurking about?

Thank you for the information. Seems very complete, except in that a lot toward the end seems to assume children are involved, particularly the section involving alimony.

Don't think this will be an issue, but I didn't think I would be looking at a divorce three months ago.
