We're doing the entire support/custody battle ourselves and it's getting ready to go to court. I'm the plaintiff. Will the court automatically represent me? What about the defendant who requested a trial, will they represent him also?
I'm not sure about Nevada but in CA, the mother of a minor child can ask the county Family Services to get involved in the sense that they represent the county's perspective and a parent's responsibility to support their children. If you are both pro per (representing yourselves) then the court doesn't obtain legal counsel for you. There are usually family law facilitators and folks like that to assist in filing the right documents. And you could request mediation instead of going to court. If you can work the details out in mediation, that can sometimes be better for both parties rather than going to court.

The court isn't going to represent you. You and your stbx are representing yourselves. The court is there to either sign off on what you and your stbx agree to or to make the decision based on the testimony and evidence presented by you and your stbx.
