Re: man's work is tough!!

Well, as long as everyone is giving advice, can someone explain to me how to cut off the bottoms of bedroom doors? See, I had carpet put in my house, which is great, and I got this extra thick pad under it, which I thought would be super comfy, only it turns out the pad and carpet are so thick none of the doors will open and shut. Although my x wasnt handy with tools at all, and I did most things myself, so off I went and bought me a new "power" tool, a skill saw. I even got the blade with lots of tiny teeth to make a nice smooth edge. I took down the door and put it outside on two horseshoes (which are mine), and proceeded to cut the bottom of the door off. Unfortunately, apparently the doors have staples all along the bottoms of them, sparks went flying everywhere, I tore the blade of the saw completely up, and although I did cut the bottom of the door off, and I hung it back up, I even sanded the bottom of it first so it wouldn't catch on the carpet, but unfortunately, my aim with the darn thing seems to have been a bit off, so if you lean pretty far over the bottom of the door almost appears level. I decided I would just drink until the door looked fine to me, which doesn't really take too many drinks, but now I'm afraid to tackle any of the other doors. Are you supposed to buy a new blade for each door? How do you stay on line? But, on the good side, I didn't cut any fingers off (which is what my dad told me on the phone would probably happen). How are you supposed to do this?
