I was in the room for both of my kids being born. The second was a planned c-section and a repeat so I was prepared. With the first one her water broke at 1 AM and I was still up from the day before, the baby wasn't born until 3:30 PM and I still hadn't slept. Her mother taped the birth and one noticeable thing as the baby is coming out is the complete lack of any sounds coming from me. It was a tremendous experience.
