I am hoping someone can answer my questions please!
My divorce was final a little over a year ago. I signed the properties over to the ex. And the divorce papers state that I am not responsible for the debt on the loans/mortgages. To date he hasn't refinanced the properties to remove my name from the loans. Now with the decreasing home values the loans total more than their worth and he can't refinance.
Is there anyway to remove my name from the loans. Any papers I can file, can I send a copy of the divorce papers to the lenders? Will they remove my name??? Is there anything I can do? Or am I screwed???
