the 'bought' comment was actually started by YOU when you stated you child was adopted and your family paid for most/all of the fees!

YOU brought that $$ aspect into it.
quite possibly you didnt mean to, but you mentioned custody right after or before you mentioned who paid for the adoption. making it SOUND as if you should have custody because of who PAID for the adoption.

That's how im thinking the 'bought' comment came into this.

had you simply stated you had a daughter whom you love and you feel you should have full custody, it would not have been an issue.

and it shouldnt.
a son or daughter is just that regardless of how they become your child.
