First question.. I have been paying child support to my childrens father for the last 16 months. He was the primary caregiver of our three kids since I lived out of the area. It was a reduced amount due to the fact that I am paying off the dental bill ($2000 plus) and the child care bill ($500). He still, to this day, sends the kids to me for extras like sport fees, clothing and school supplies. I moved closer and was awarded shared physical custody of the two youngest last week (the oldest is 18). The custody is split exactly in half. Is it reasonable to expect that I will no longer be paying him child support for the two youngest? Second question. We live in Pennsylvania, and it is not required of the support paying parent to pay anything after high school graduation and the age of 18, unless it has been written into a prior agreement. Dad has already agreed to take out a loan, but "expects" me to help him pay it off. I would prefer to give my oldest living money monthly than to give his father anything else. Yes, that is bitter sounding.... it's been a long difficult divorce and custody battle. Any clue if he can still take me to domestics and file for a modification demanding that I pay for secondary education? I think he intends to try to include my husbands salary, but that won't be permitted. By the way, he makes twice as much as I do per month. |
