The child support was set in 1998, from what his post indicates, and has not been modified since. Both parties have probably increased their income in the 10 years since it was set. And probably in the 4 years that the guidelines were changed.

Ever heard of cost of living increases? Chances are the support isn't going to go down.

Like I said, he is better off going to an attorney in his area to see what he would be paying than using online calculators. They aren't very reliable at all.

You aren't implying that he shouldn't find out from a more reliable source just how much he would be paying before he opens the can of worms, are you?
