Jaded, I am Tabitha White, Author of Child Support Federally Mandated. In my extensive research for this book I interviewed over 40,000 parents across the U.S. I know from conversations with these parents that once you file for divorce, even if it is done on your own, if you apply for state aid, they will automatically step in and collect support for you. This should include spousal support as well as child support. If you have no immediate place to live and you are pregnant, contact a local church-Catholic Churches are usually the best in this situation. They will put you in contact with a 'safe-house' for you and your children to live at with immediate food and shelter needs being met. The address or name is not going to be found in the phone book as these are usually kept hidden for the safety of the mothers and the children. Apply for state aid, let them know you are expecting also. There should be no valid reason they are denying you benefits.
