6 months after your move, Florida will become the child's "home state" under the interstate laws, so you'll be able to file divorce then if you can wait that long. If you have prevented him from seeing the child, it could be a problem because he could tell the judge that you kidnapped the kid, so be careful. If you are not afraid of the father showing up on your doorstep & demanding to be given a free ride for rent while he brings danger to your doorstep with his addiction, then let him know where you are. If he moves to follow you & sets himself up in a house someplace in the vicinity, then fine. If he wants to visit your child, be careful, you don't want to set a precedent of letting the courts think you've thought it was perfectly OK for him to ahve unsupervised visitation today, and then in 5 months ask for his visits to be restricted.

If you can hold your breath that long, then it'll be that easy... but in the meantime if you are in hiding or running or whatever, then you need more help than JUST waiting for teh divorce... you need some shelter & protection from him & his addict/supplier friends.
