By default, Alabama retains jurisdiction. The kids live in Texas. You are in favor of moving jurisdiction to Texas. If your ex is OK with a change of jurisdiction, you should be able to get it done easily.

If she doesn't want jurisdiction changed, you will probably prevail after a small squabble that will cost you more in legal fees that the one year of child support you stand to gain by the change.
