Spousal Support in California

Just wondering what I can expect for Spousal Support in California. We've been married 21 years. I understand there's an accepted calculation (40% of the higher earners income less 50% of the lower income= spousal support). Is that accurate? How many years is the higher income earner expected to pay this support? Thanks!

Given the length of your marriage, it could be anywhere from 1/3 the length to lifetime.
