My wife owes $60,000 in student loans. In her maiden name and i never signed any papaers on her student loans. Will i be ordered to pay half. I live in Ca.

That would be a question that would better be answered legally by an attorney. If these loans happened before your marriage and are not under her married name, I don't see how you can be held accountable for her prior debt.
I could be wrong, which is why I started my response to you with suggesting you seek legal advice on this.
