Long weekends
|
|
I have a daughter and I get visitation every other weekend. But I am wondering if anyone knows if the weekend falls on a long weekend am I entitled to have her for the whole long weekend or do I have to return her Sun @ 6pm still?

By a long weekend I'm guessing your refering to a holiday. Are holidays rotational in your decree? If so is it your holiday this year? If not your weekend ends at 6:00 Sunday.

I think mine is worded so that he could have them until 6 pm on the day before returning to school, so that would be Monday at 6.........but mine always return at 7 am on Sunday morning.

Check the wording on your agreement. If it is really vague, then rather than guessing what will happen, you should ask the other parent if you can have them the whole weekend.
Tell them that it would be nice for either of you when it's a long weekend to have the kids for the whole weekend. This way, you both can make plans accordingly for long weekends. The worst they can do is say no. If you wait and wait, you'll stress out over what plans you could/should make. If they say No, just go with that and don't make a scene. However, if they say No, that sets up the precedent for future long weekend visits for the both of you.

After my ex got sole physical custody, she no longer cares if my son stays extra days w/me. As you will notice, most women on this forum ask opinions on how they can get as much money from their ex as possible. That's how I have seen it.
