First Divorce...

Hi, I have been married for 7 yrs and my husband wants a divorce. Now I have no idea how this works. I am not working I have been a stay at home mom for 2 yrs in July. What do I do? Do I need a lawyer? What if I can't afford a lawyer? I don't want to be the one to petition. I just don't know what to do next? Can anyone help? Thank you...

Clau, I truly feel for you. You are very young, try to stay strong and keep a clear mind, it is very difficult in these times but very important.
My situation is much different, 3rd relationship, no children involved and me just giving up! She wanted me out, I made a couple of attempts to get us to councelling but to no avail. Takes two to tango!!
Whatever your situation, learn as much as you can with respect to both yours and his rights, the more you understand the system the easier the future will become.

Well, weather 1st, 2nd or 2rd, I'm assuming it hurts and sucks the same. LOL
I have offered counseling as well, both sides of parents have talked to him, but he's just set on moving on. Nothing else I can do. We've gone through ALOT together, I guess it comes with the territory.
