Emancipation...

It's been a struggle with my ex husband for most of my daughter's 18 years. Finally she turns 18!!!! I think my problems are over. WRONG! She went through a rough period for a couple months when a friend committed suicide. She wanted to be around her friends all the time. Meaning she would stay at a friend's house for a week or two or I'd have kids at my house. She even stayed at her dad's for 3 weeks. The longest she's ever visited.
When she went through this time her dad filed to have her emancipated. She wasn't working. Was in school full time (High School. And I was paying all of her bills besides supporting her.
He also just stopped support. He stopped paying in January. She didn't even graduate until June. Anyone know if she can be emancipated based on this? Thanks.

Re: Emancipation...

CS is due until age 21 . None of the things you've mentioned seem worthy of emancipation . Generally , the only reasons legal emancipation are allowed is if the dependent child marries , joins the military or earns enough of an income to become self-sufficient .
