I currently live in MD. My child support case is in VA and is for arrears only. My ex husband (lives in DC)has not worked in over two years. He is waiting on a SSDI claim to be approved or denied. In the meantime, my 17 year old is not receiving any support. VA told me that I should open a case in MD. That way they can take him to court to get an order established in MD. The arrearage in VA is over $30,000. Will that amount carry over into my case if I open a new open in MD?
