Alienation
I admit that I did the wrong thing and began seeing someone while still married. My husband and I decided to divorce before he knew about this. Now he is being difficult about it. He told me that alienation (or it may have been alienism) is against the law in the state of Nebraska. When I asked what that was, he stated that it was against the law for someone to break up another's marriage. Is this true? Can the person I am seeing get into trouble for this? The only thing I can find about alienation is regarding children (we have no children in common). Thanks.

While alienation of affection was once an actionable cause for a lawsuit , it is no longer in any state .

I to was worried about this. But in my case it was my husband that was unfaithful. I was worried cause when I decided to leave him I started a relationship. But in the state of nebraska atleast is now a no fault state unless the other spouse of abusive to the other spouse, kids, drugs, or alchol.
