Seperation, Adultery, Good Lord This Sucks

Here's my situation, My wife and I agreed 1.5 yrs ago that we would live together as roommates while I supported us still with her in school.
3 months ago, I had had enough and decided it was time to leave, and with the help of a relative, I am able to live outside of that situation and still pay for everything. Now though, I have met someone and also do not feel I need to pay the ammount I am paying anymore. I literally pay $1300 a month for her for everything, including food and gas money. She is out of school at the moment, and will start back February, and refuses to get a job while our son is in school.

My main concern is what I would be required to pay by law after court. Does it seem like I would have to pay the same ammount? Less? MORE?! I am to the point of where, since we've only lived apart for 3 months, that I will just say ADULTERY just to get this over with.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would get a lawyer. SC has very specific guideslines as far as child support. You can find it on the web. If you plead guilty to adultery you can be legally divorced in 90 days-but you will most likely have to pay alimony. The amount of the child support and alimony may be equal to the amount you have been paying to support her.

It would be reasonable for her to get a job. A judge may give her a specific amount of time to do so.

You set yourself up for a fight by living under the conditions that you did. The fact that you have demonstrated that you are willing and able to pay the amount you have been paying-is going to hurt you.

You better consult an attorney and before you move forward with any new relationships.

I wish you the best.
