Just got a divorce summons - what is next

I just received a divorce summons from the soon-to-be-ex-wife. I do not have a lawyer because we agreed months ago to wait until the oldest graduated. (She lied again, so no big surprise me) Anyway, should I answer the complaint myself or is is legal in Tennessee to do so? I have no problem with the divorce, only the terms she is seeking. thanks for the help.

You don't get much help here I guess.

Look on the main All Forums page and scroll down to your state and do some research on your question. This site is for people to help each other, not necessarily give legal advice. We're not lawyers.

Thanks for replying. I thought this was the site for Tennessee and I thought someone might have gone being given a divorce summons and had a little insight. Which board would you suggest I pose the question? Thanks again.

Maybe on the Pro Se forum. I think that's for people representing themselves.

Go to freeadvice.com. They are full of lawyers.

Legally, you can answer it yourself and with a no-fault divorce, this step is not particularly tricky.

But since you're going to need a lawyer to help you through the divorce, I'd go out and find a lawyer and have him/her help you with it from the beginning.
