Never done this. Need advice or answers

I have been married for 27 years. Recently my wife told me she has been having an affair with my best friend for the past 5 years. I have been to one counseling session with her and found out she has been having affairs for 17 of the 27 years. Since I believe that Kansas is a 50/50 state on assets I was wondering about her getting 50% of an investment I have from profit sharing at a previous job in the 80's. When I left that company we had been married for 6 years and I rolled the profit sharing over into an IRA in my name. Any insight you could offer would be appreciated.

As for the affairs, regretfully, they play no bearing on the separation of assets. It won't matter whose name they are in. It can make a difference with alimony. Does your wife work, and his income comparable to yours?
