how should i prepare

my husband wants a divorce. married 12 years 9 yr old son.
what information do i need? all credit cards are in his name and only one includes me. he does online banking and is keeping access from me, etc. what do i need to do to protect myself. i quit my job after our son was born (mutual decision). he makes $200,000/yr i am 49 yrs old
and have been out of workforce for 9 years.
need advice on how to prepare to protect myself financially

Find yourself a good attorney ASAP (borrow the money if necessary). Once you have retained an attorney they will begin a process called discovery. Your spouse will be required to submit any financial information including bank statements and the likes. Should he choose to hide any of the marital assets, if you have an idea of which banks/businesses he has accounts or interests with then your attorney can subpoena the information directly from the source.
