Dealing with Custody after divorce

I have questions regarding the custody agreement in place. I have a 10 year old Daughter and a 6 year old son. My daughter wants to live with me most of the time. At what age are they old enough to make that decision? I have been divorced for over a year and i just bought a house for me and my children. It seems that either I give up my house and go back to court or I leave the custody the way it is. I should also mention that my ex has parenting issue's since I was the one who "Dealt" with the kids our entire marriage.
Do I have any other options? I can't afford my Lawyer at $400.00an hour.
Can i go back to court without having a lawyer? How do I help my daughter deal with this? I am very concerned about my Son and his future. I currently have both of my children talking to a child Psycologist which helps.

Does anyone know what my different options are?

There would have to be a significant change of circumstances to change your custody arrangement.

Neither of your kids are old enough to have a real say in where they go.

Also, nothing you posted would be considered a significant change of circumstances.
