What can I expect at the first Court?
|
|
I was wondering, my first court date is coming up. Anybody know what happens? Who is there? What goes on? Do I take my children? Do I take anything?

I read in one of your prior posts that you have a lawyer. Your lawyer should meet with you before the court date. He/she should be able to give you some insight as what to expect.

Flux,
If the first hearing is a temporary support hearing, it is the ‘immediate, but not permanent arrangements’ to sorting out issues like custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, who gets to stays in the marital home, and who is going pay the mortgage/rent/utility bills …all that good stuff. The hearing can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

Well, two weeks to go. I want everything, she can just walk out and leave us alone.
Thank you very much!
