handling divorce pro per/per se

can anyone tell me if it's difficult to handle your own divorce without using an attorney

It can be simple when both parties agree on all the terms of the divorce or there are few issues ( no kids , short marriage , etc. ) . If there are alot of contested issues ,like child custody , it can be a total nightmare .

geez...I agree with the 2nd poster, from what I've witnessed personally its incomprehensible to even attempt a divorce without an attorney!

If for some reason you go to court, they speak in a different language almost. And the Judges know the law too and have to spank you, for being a normal human.

I hear if there's no contest and no kids and no money and etc.. etc.. you maybe able to do it. Many have obviously.

If you both agree on everything then it is easy. If the other party has an attorney then by no means go at it alone. My ex tried last time and only made the judge upset for waisting 3 1.2 hours of the day.
