Does any one know my options for obtaining a divorce other than dishing out $500? We were married in Calif. 1992 moved to AZ and in 2000 I left due to his adultry and moved to TN.Where would I have to file (state)? Is there common law divorce after so many years of seperation? Confused.....
You can file a nofault divorce based on irreconciliable differences , the parties must be in agreement on all aspects of the divorce, including child custody and support, division of all property and debt, together with any other significant issues arising out of the marriage and this agreement must be filed with and approved by the court. In an irreconcilable differences divorce there is a waiting period of sixty days from the date the complaint is filed if there are no children and ninety days if there are children of the marriage . There are several websites that offer divorce paperwork , if you do decide to do it yourself , it's a good idea to have an attorney at least check over the paperwork to make sure there are no legal errors that can invalidate the petition .

so would that require him filling out any paper work or would it be just me filling it out and filing it with the court and in 60 days I'm divorced? Does he have to be served or anything ? I appreciate your help.
