Divorce and Order of Protection???

I was married in November of '03. We currently have a 3 year old child together. I have been separated since September of '05. In December of '06 I filed an Order of Protection against him because he assaulted me. It was the first time he hit me. The Order of Protection will expire June of '08. I have yet to even start a divorce because I have no money. Every once in a while, he'll give me money, maybe $100 every 2 weeks or so. He is currently unemployed and if he wishes to see our son, he goes through my sister for visitation arrangements and he usually has our son every other weekend.

Someone suggested I go to this site http://completecase.com/ to file divorce for cheap. I don't know if this is for me, but it would be all I could afford, but I want to make sure that this site will help me with the visitation issue and child support. I do not qualify for any form of Legal Aid because I make too much money, but I have so much debt that I cannot afford a lawyer.

Any suggestions?

You will need to come up with a retainer fee. As far as the over all cost, that will vary, however, most lawyers will allow a payment plan.
Something you should look into are a few consulations; these are generally free and you can go to a few different divorce lawyers to get a couple of different opinions.
If you are seriously considering a divorce, you need to talk to a lawyer. He/she will advise you on your rights, VERY IMPORTANT. Call a few and set appointments.
Good luck

Can you work with an advocate group that helped you get the Order of Protection.
