This advice may be wrong, but its what I have been told... I am an active duty member. recieve BAh and all, and am paying my estranged husband. When we separated, I was put in the barracks by my command, and still recieving BAH. So as part of our agreement, I paid my soon ex 500. Now that I live in an apartment, I actually have to pay rent. However, I am recieving married BAh but live as single. So as spousal support, until we are divorced, I was advised by and attorney to pay him the difference between the two. Does your husband live in barracks, or on his own? what is his paygrade? how much is he recieving? these are things you need to know... then u can talk to him, or go to an attorney. That is all I know, hope it helps

If you are close to a military installation go to the Judge Advocate Office and they will explain everything to you. Otherwise, get online and get the phone number to the one closest to you. I am assuming he is enlisted. Try to get the phone number and name of his First Sergeant or Company Commander and talk to them and tell them what is happening. It makes a difference if your husband is in Basic training or at a permanent station. Confused was correct, you are authorized part of the Bachelor Housing Allowance (BHA) if you are not living together. I am a Retired Officer and Personnel was my specialty.
