I am going through an Irreconcilable differences divorce and it has been drawn out even though there is no property to divide or anything other than child support. Is there a time limit as to when a court date can be given. My husband is not willing to sign the papers. We have been seperated for two years.
I am desperate to get this divorce over, but I feel he is just being stubborn and doesn't want to help me take care of our son. My understanding is that because we have a child we have to come to an agreement and go to parenting classes before a court date is given. Is that correct? It just seems that at some point if it has been more than 90 days a court date should be given even if it is just to find out what is the major concern with this divorce. Is there anything else I can do to get this divorce settled and move on with my life?
Yes, you can request a court date and push it through. I'd advise that you consult a lawyer to help you with that and give you the pros and cons of it.
