I am getting ready to go through a divorce. My mother has several MM, savings & CD accounts that I am secondary on. Can my soon to be ex get anything from these accounts that I am secondary on? Do I have to disclose this?
Even if she were to try and clam that you have ownership of these accounts, they have not been mingled with marital funds. You will argue they should be treated as potential inheritance or gift from family and should not be considered marital property.
Make sure you get a lawyer on your side to help you make these points.
To protect your rights; make sure you disclose this to your attorney. don't leave anything to chance. You don't need her running after it. From what I have been through, I dont think she can get ANY OF IT, but inform your lawyer!!! Tractormom
