My wife has a paranoid disorder and suffered a major psychotic episode prior to revealing her affair and asking for the divorce. Her boyfriend is a paranoid schizophrenic with a drug dependency problem so I have to go for custody. Any advice on mounting this battle will be appreciated.

I hate to say it, but that alone may not get you custody. the only true way you may get what you want-HIRE A EXPENSIVE LAWYER!! when you see your laywer, bring this up to him/her and see what they say.

Custody is often decided on the little but important things like who is taking the child to the doctor , going to parent-teacher conferences and seeing to their day to day care . While your STBX's mental issues MAY effect a judge's decision , it is more important to prove you are the parent doing all this .

Thanks. My choice of attorney, I know, is crucial. I'm meeting with ome tomorrow who won a very similar case last year. I just hate having to do what I must do and will try to keep the kids as innocent as possible through the process.
