Last weekend my wife told me we can't go on anymore. We work different schedules and are never together. We will be friends but can't go on being married. We would have had 4 years in Oct. I just have a few questions to ask and I appreciate any info I get.....

We have no property or kids. We have 1 car we are paying on, I told her she can have it, but she needs to make the payments. I have a credit card that has about a 1200 balance, she agreed to paying 1/2. I have another one that all I am asking is about 500. A family plan cell phone we will split the bill. Splitting the car insurance monthly bill as well.

Is it expensive seeing as we already have agreed on the financial aspects ourselves? How much? Can we download forms we can fill out and file ourselves?

Thanks!!

Sure. Go on the internet and surf. Go to www.Google.com and type in downloadable divorce form for your state and you should be able to find what you need. Most public libraries carry the How to do your own Divorce book with forms already in them. I know in Texas we have it where I work and people without kids or property uses it all the time.
Good luck

Careful with the family cell plan bill... I'd separate phones as fast as you can... Whoever is primary on the account can modify and stuff... hopefully you both have passwords to the web site. If only one does, then that person has complete access to who you call/text, etc.

Sorry to hear about your marriage ending and good luck!

I was in the same situation and we both agreed to do the divorce on our own. The main point is you BOTH have to agree on EVERYTHING to make a "no-laywer" divorce work. It will save you both a ton of money in the long run and also save you a relationship if you both want that. The book I got was at Hastings or any large book chain and Amazon.com. It is called" Divorce Yourself, the national divorce kit" It comes with Cd software for all of the downloadable and printable legal papers you will need. It cost around $40.00. The ISBN # is 1-892949-12-1. The author is Daniel Sitarz. Email me if you would like to buy my copy, I will sell it to you for less than half the price. Good Luck!
