I am trying to find what my rights are regarding keeping my home and refinancing in only my name? My wife wants to begin a new life with my kids, With another man. And expects me to give up the house and walk away! I think since she has the support of another and wants this new life she should find a new place! I have worked hard for what I have and cant understand how I have to lose evrything (The house, Kids, her) because she just changed her mind! Can anyone give me advice?
Start by finding out if you live in a community property state or not. If so, your wife is entitled to50% of all assets and debts accrued during your marriage. I know you worked hard but so did your wife whether she was a stay at home mom or held a job. Call the familly court house and ask the clerk if it is a community property state.
