Can someone please help me with this form? I received a Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage, Waiver for Irreconcilable Differences, and Entry of Appearance, Waiver, and Consent Form from H's attorney. Nothing has been filed. I do not have an attorney and this is an uncontested divorce. I signed the Judgment and Waiver, but not the Entry Form. Will the assets be split according to the Judgment? I am a little afraid of signing the Entry of Appearance.... Form because I feel like I am signing my life away, but as long as the assets will be divided according the Judgment that I signed...I think that I need to, so we can get this divorce finalized. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, the entry form I believe is you saying you are representing yourself. The judge will decide how things are split.

My friend is going through a divorce as well, and didn't have money for a lawyer, so she found a lawyer that would request for her soon to be ex had to pay equal to her's what he paid to his. I know you guys are uncontested, but then why does he have a lawyer and not you????

The waiver doesn't mean the judge will split things. I signed a Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage that states how things will be split. That is the only document that even states our assets. There is no way a judge would know how to equitably distribute our assets based on that document alone or from my husband's petition. There are no amounts of value listed anywhere.

He has a lawyer because he hired him to draw up the papers. I do not have one because I agree with the split of assets in the Judgment, so I didn't want to hire an attorney to keep the peace with my husband.

Our court date is next Tuesday, so there isn't anything I can do. I ended up signing the Entry of Appearance, Waiver, and Consent Form, so I don't even have to go to court. I'm crossing my fingers that this all goes smoothly, so I can move on with my life.
